Join our community and make a difference!

As a parent, you play a fundamental role in shaping your child’s educational experience. One impactful way to contribute is by getting involved with the Parent Teacher Association (PTA). Not only does joining the PTA give you a voice in school activities and policies, it also provides opportunities to meet other parents and become part of a supportive community. Here are three ways you can get involved, no matter your time availability or resources.

1

Help Occasionally with Events

We understand that juggling family, work, and personal life can be challenging, leaving little room for additional commitments. However, even the smallest contribution can make a significant difference. If you have limited time but still want to help, consider volunteering occasionally for PTA events.

What You Can Do:

  • Event Setup: Help set up tables, decorations, and equipment before events such as school fairs, book sales, and sports days.

  • Event Staff: Assist with manning stalls, serving refreshments, or overseeing activities during the events.

  • Cleanup Crew: Lend a hand in tidying up after the event, ensuring the school grounds return to normal.

  • Ad-hoc Assistance: Offer your skills, whether it's baking for a cake sale, crafting for a holiday fair, or chaperoning a field trip.

Benefits:

  • Flexible Commitment: Volunteer based on your schedule and availability.

  • Instant Gratification: See the immediate impact of your contribution.

  • Networking: Meet other dedicated parents and school staff in a relaxed, fun setting.

  • YOUR KIDS WILL LOVE TO SEE YOU HELPING AT SCHOOL !

2

Join PTA Executive Committee

For parents who can commit more time and wish to have a more substantial impact, joining the Executive Committee is an excellent option. This involves being part of the core group that plans and executes PTA and school projects.

What You Can Do:

  • Regular Meetings: Participate in bi-weekly meetings to discuss upcoming events, budgets, and school needs.

  • Plan and Organise: Take the lead on various projects, from arranging guest speakers to coordinating fundraising initiatives.

  • Liaise with Staff: Work closely with teachers and administrators to ensure that PTA activities align with the school's goals.

  • Communications: Help manage newsletters, social media, and other communications to keep all parents informed and engaged.

Benefits:

  • Influence: Play a key role in decision-making processes that affect the school community.

  • Skill Development: Enhance your organisational, leadership, and communication skills.

  • Long-Term Impact: Contribute to meaningful, long-lasting changes within the school.

  • YOUR KIDS WILL LOVE TO SEE YOU AT SCHOOL !

3

Be a Sponsor for the KJS PTA

If your time is limited but you still want to support the PTA, sponsoring is a fantastic way to contribute. Donations can take many forms, from items and materials to financial contributions.

What You Can Do:

  • Donate Items: Provide goods such as stationery, sports equipment, or books that can be used during events or as prizes.

  • Provide Services: Offer professional services such as printing flyers, catering, or supplying sound equipment.

  • Financial Contributions: Make cash donations to support PTA initiatives, fund school projects, or sponsor specific events.

  • Corporate Sponsorship: If you own a business, consider becoming a corporate sponsor, offering products or services and benefit from brand visibility at school events.

Benefits:

  • Flexible Support: Contribute without the need to commit time.

  • Recognition: Gain recognition within the school community for your generosity.

  • Tax Benefits: your donations might be tax-deductible, a receipt will be provided upon request.
